Roller printing on fabrics is a textile printing process patented by Thomas Bell of Scotland in 1783 in an attempt to reduce the cost of the earlier copperplate printing. This method was used in Lancashire fabric mills to produce cotton dress fabrics from the 1790s, most often reproducing small monochrome patterns characterized by striped motifs and tiny dotted patterns called "machine grounds". Improvements in the technology resulted in more elaborate roller prints in bright, rich colours from the 1820s; Turkey red and chrome yellow were particularly popular.

The India naming dispute in 1947 refers to the argument over the use of the name India during and after the partition of British Raj, between the countries of Pakistan and the Republic of India. This dispute involved key figures such as Lord Mountbatten, the last Viceroy of British Raj, and Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the leader of the Muslim League and a founder of Pakistan. By 1947, the British Raj was going to be divided into two new nation states – Hindustan and Pakistan. Jinnah was initially convinced that Hindustan would not use the term India, since it lacked indigenous pedigree, etymologically and historically India meant the Indus Valley (modern-Pakistan). He also opposed the use of the name India as it would cause confusion regarding history. The disagreement had significant implications for national identity and international recognition.

想請管理員幫我處理封禁一事

是這樣的 我之前被管理員Mys 721tx給無限期封禁了，之後他給我一次機會解禁 他後來又把給無限期封禁

理由是添加版權物 但是那兩個理由我不能接受

1.孟子條目的孟子生卒年我只是在引用文獻寫上引文證明孟子的生卒年月日而已 2.我在自己的沙盒放上之前被刪除的條目內容給自己看，因為有點可惜，而且也沒有給其他人看

請幫忙批量移動頁面

客棧有個關於化學式的討論，說是要將化學式頁面從消歧義改為同類索引，目前幾位化學式條目的維護者都沒有表達反對意見。本想自己移，但User:Hamish/massmove.js我沒看懂要怎麼操作，User:Lt2818/massmove.js要用regex可是我不會。為免出現操作失誤，我想還是請有能力的人移動吧。所以希望閣下協助批量移動以下頁面及他們的子頁面：

• Template:Isomerdab -> Template:MolFormIndex（這個沒有子頁面，暫時留下重定向，待清理完後再提刪）
• Template:MolFormDisambigNav -> Template:MolFormNav（10個子頁面，暫時留下重定向，待清理完後再提刪）

Adumu, is a type of dance that the Maasai people of Kenya and Tanzania practice. Young Maasai warriors generally perform the energetic and acrobatic dance at ceremonial occasions including weddings, religious rites, and other significant cultural events. The Adumu dance is characterized by a sequence of jumps performed by the dancers, who stand in a circle and alternately jump while keeping their bodies as straight and upright as possible. In addition to wearing vividly colored shúkàs (clothes) and beaded jewelry, the dancers are typically clad in traditional Maasai costume. Traditional Maasai songs and chants are also performed during the dance.

關於金庸年齡的修改被撤銷

您好，我編輯了金庸的頁面，修改了其出生日期被您撤銷，有很多證據能證明 金庸的出生日期為1923年農曆二月初六，而非人們通常以為的1924年，望您將撤銷修改的操作撤銷，以下是證據，出自《金庸評傳》（劉國重著）。

1.2018年10月30日，金庸逝世。第二天，金庸二十多年的好友張紀中特別對記者強調：「金庸生前幾次和我喝茶時，他曾親口對我說他是豬年出生的，是1923年生人。希望媒體朋友再報道金庸先生時，能及時更正過來」（杜恩湖《張紀中：金庸先生出生於1923年，應是享年95歲》

2.《鄉蹤俠影》中稱，金庸祖父查文清逝世於1923年9月。金庸稱乳名宜孫是祖父所取，祖孫二人見過，若金庸生於1924年，則金庸說的是錯的。

3.金庸幼弟口述《金庸是我的「小阿哥」》中說「小阿哥良鏞是屬豬的，生於陰曆1923年底，陽曆1924年初」 但這句話是有問題的，豬年是1923年，金庸過生日是陰曆二月初六。

2016年5月7日的《明報周刊》上，又登載了記者對與金庸關係極好的王世瑜的採訪。王世瑜說：「查先生比我大十六歲，他屬豬，我屬兔。」

2018年，沈西城在他的新著《金庸逸事》中，還有接受明報出版社訪問時，也都說，金庸夫人林樂怡曾請他吃飯，席間談及金庸、倪匡、沈西城都屬豬。金庸屬豬，是金庸夫人親口對他說的。

4.2018年11月4日，紅星新聞記者彭志強側面採訪查傳倜，在《「爸爸，感謝五十多年，和你分享的美食！」金庸兒子查傳倜泣別父親》一文中談到：「在查傳倜的微信朋友圈，之前幾乎看不到他發佈與金庸有關的文圖信息，只是會在3月10日這天集中發佈幾條與父親有關的消息，然後給一眾朋友反覆解釋，『3月10日不是父親的生日，他只過農曆生日，他的生日實際上是每年農曆二月初六』。」1924年農曆二月初六，就是公曆3月10日。查傳倜說「3月10日不是父親的生日」，足證金庸不是生於1924年。

關於為什麼金庸沒有反對自己生於1924年的猜想

《明報》舊人石貝在《我的老闆金庸》一書中談到：「還有一個傳聞，說（長子自殺後的）查先生從此對相術算命之類深信不疑，因為早年有人曾為查算過命，說他命中只有一子，但朱玫為他生下兩子，他心想這算命的真是亂說，結果長子的過世竟然不幸驗證了那位術士的預言。

有人曾問劉再復、潘耀明兩位，他們2月一起去看望金庸，得知是九十整壽。金庸稱，九十大壽不讓慶祝（風水師的提醒），所以劉、潘兩位本來要寫文章祝賀，因為老先生這句話，兩人都沒寫。

張紀中很早就知道金庸生於1923年，但總要等到金庸逝世後才公開，似乎之前有所顧忌與避諱。這似乎印證了我先前「金庸能因為風水師的提醒而不過九十整壽，他也可能因為類似原因而不反對自己生於1924年」的猜想。--Galaxiy（留言） 2024年7月21日 (日) 07:35 (UTC)

The Rathaus-Glockenspiel is a large mechanical clock located in Marienplatz Square, in the heart of Munich, Germany. Famous for its life-size characters, the clock twice daily re-enacts scenes from Munich's history. First is the story of the marriage of Duke Wilhelm V to Renata of Lorraine in 1568, followed by the story of the Schäfflerstanz, also known as the coopers' dance.

The Nederlandsche Cocaïnefabriek (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈneːdərlɑntsə koːkaːˈinəfaːˌbrik]; English: Dutch Cocaine Factory) or NCF was an Amsterdam-based company producing cocaine for medical purposes in the 20th century. It imported its raw materials mainly from the Dutch East Indies and sold its products across Europe, making good profits especially in the early years of World War I. The NCF produced morphine, heroin and ephedrine as well.

This new special page replaces Special:EditGrowthConfig. For now, all Growth features can be configured using Community Configuration. Configuration for AutoModerator (T365046) and other features will be available in the future.

You can help with translations. The interface translation is done at Translatewiki.net. You can also help translate the documentation.

Current work

Newcomer Homepage Community Updates module

We will add a new Community Configurable module to the Newcomer Homepage that will allow communities to highlight specific events, projects, campaigns, and initiatives. We have released a simple version available to beta wikis. We will conduct an A/B test at our pilot wikis using the new Metrics Platform. We still welcome community feedback on initial designs and plans, in any language at our project talk page.

Future work

Increase constructive activation on mobile

As part of the Growth team 2024/2025 Annual Plan, the Growth team will explore various ways to increase the percentage of newcomers who successfully start editing.

Editing a Wikipedia page requires too much context and patience. It means many trial and error for newcomers to contribute, meaning a steeper learning curve and potential discouraging reverts. To support a new generation of volunteers, we will increase the number and availability of smaller, structured, and more task-specific editing workflows (E.g. Edit Check and Structured Tasks). The Growth team will primarily focus on Structured Tasks, while working closely with the Editing team to ensure our work integrates well with Edit Check.
