Bill被绑架，Sookie努力寻找线索，在Pam的提示下，要Jessica打电话给她如果Bill召唤她（制造者可以召唤被他制造的吸血鬼），并且要求Eric协助。作为路易斯安那州的第五区长官，Eric表示他有义务，责无旁贷地负起搜寻Bill的义务。

Sookie上司Sam Merlotte则从养父母那里得知亲生父母的下落而去寻找他们并找到他们。在交谈中Sam得知亲生父亲Joe Lee是一个正常人，但母亲却是一个变身人，而他还有一个弟弟。

Sookie最后与Jessica找到线索知道对方是一群狼人（Werewolves）。而且这群狼人是属于二战时期德国纳粹的一支突击队。Sookie从Eric口中得到更多资料，而Eric与他的制造者Godric则在当时是纳粹党卫军。

另一面绑架Bill的虽然表面是狼人，但是背后却是密西西比州的吸血鬼王Russel罗素，而他则有意让Bill Compton成为密西西比州第二区的吸血鬼长官，而代价则是要他影响路易斯安那州的女王，但Bill拒绝合作。然而在对方以Sookie安危威胁时，Bill却无奈地只好答应。

Bill休息时回想起1868年他不顾Lorena劝告而回家的情境，他的儿子Thomas因感染天花而死。而女儿则被送到别处。

他探望家人时得知儿子噩耗，留下眼泪时，由于吸血鬼眼泪与常人不同而露出破绽，他的妻子Caroline因惧怕而提枪对准他，在Lorena的帮助下，事情才得以解决，并教他如果要表达对人类的爱，最好就是永远远离他。

Lorena来探望，他承认她所说的话是对的，而如今他再次受到了教训。

Sam见过父母后，却与弟弟Tommy不和，并下决心回去良辰镇，他的亲人来探望，他热情招待，但却因为小事而嘈吵。

Tara遇到了一只吸血鬼，并与他有了一夜情。其后该吸血鬼找到了Jessica，并从她口中得到Tara的资讯。

Sookie家中闯入狼人，但被Eric所救。不过最后吸血鬼王经已停止行动，但Sookie已经在Eric的狼人朋友陪同下前往了Jackson的狼人酒吧。并得到一定信息。

从Eric的狼人朋友的妹妹心中，Sookie知道了其狼人朋友的女友Debbie正在吸食V。而在他们去到了狼人酒吧里头，他们发现了吸血鬼王罗素竟然就是他们背后的V供给者。而当场他们更举行仪式，并且变身成为野狼。

而Eric也因为Bill Compton的原因而替女王Sophie卖V的事被揭，Pam被囚，并限Eric在三天内解决事情。Eric到达后，由罗素的吸血鬼伴去请他游览，而当他得睹珍藏时，发现了他家族失落已久的维京王冠。而Eric还是维京人的王储时（当时Eric还是人类），罗素为了夺取他父王的王冠而派遣狼人将他父母亲人都杀死的事情。

而罗素也都发现Bill Compton一直在对他进行欺骗。他一直留意Sookie这种家族遗传的读心术。

Sookie去请教狼人们的族长，知道罗素是一个古老的吸血鬼王，而一直以来，无论他去到哪，都会有一大群狼人追随。
